Data, Analytics & More

Hello, I’m Scott Jenkins. This is where I share my thoughts and stories on my career, personal growth and more.

In 2022/3 I’m studying for an MSc in Operational Research at the University of Edinburgh, excited to further my statistical, modelling, and programming skills. Previously, I gained 4 years of work experience across Analytics roles first at homeware retailer Dunelm and later at multinational optical chain Specsavers. Before this, I studied Mathematics at the University of Warwick, graduating with a BSc in 2018.

At Specsavers, I worked in the group marketing analytics to build business understanding of customer consent and contactability, and appointment attendance. At Dunelm, as a Senior Supply Chain Insight Analyst, I spent my time applying mathematics, machine learning algorithms and statistics to a variety of logistics problems. Skilled in Python and SQL, I get a lot of energy sharing my work with business stakeholders and fellow data-enthusiasts alike.

Outside of work, I’m an enthusiastic joggler – I run and juggle simultaneously, often found at my local parkrun on a Saturday morning. On the side, I enjoy learning Italian, and practicing my lockdown hobby: piano.
